Why Downtown Houston?
Just a quick exit from all of the major thoroughfares that surround the 4th largest city in the nation, you'll find St. Joseph Medical Center on 10 blocks in downtown Houston. The Medical Center complex is connected via skywalk on the second level and/or tunnels below the streets. Luby's, a well-known Houston tradition in good eating, is the source for all patient, cafeteria, and cafe dining within the hospital. At the heart of the campus is a park, complete with waterfalls, birds, beautiful landscaping and ample benches and seats for enjoying the serenity in any weather.
Downtown Houston boasts a variety of venues that support our hometown teams - BBVA Compass Stadium for the Houston Dynamo Soccer Club; MinuteMaid Park for the Houston Astros; and The Toyota Center, home of the Houston Rockets. Just a few minutes away is NRG Stadium, site of the Houston Texans football games.
Before or after work dining is as easy as making a call, driving by for pick up or sitting down at one of the many diverse restaurants that are within easy access of the hospital.
The Theater District not only boasts beautiful locales but also top line productions ranging from opera to Broadway and theater to music by the Houston Symphony. Light rail, commuter "Green Links" and bicycles are available to help make the ride through our great city much more of a sightseeing tour. Green spaces, bayous, beautiful residential and commercial high rises, an abundance of hike and bike trails, kayaking venues, exercise stops and some of the nation's best retail establishments fill the spaces both above and below ground in Downtown Houston. Some of the nation's best museums and more beautiful parks are just a short ride from St. Joseph.
