CT Technologist

  • Promote quality patient care through the performance of diagnostic and invasive CT scan procedures.
  • Maintain through knowledge of contrast agents, CT scanners, injector systems, supplies, radiation safety and quality assurance guidelines and apply such knowledge in day-to-day performance of duties.
  • Prepare patient for procedure by noting appropriate medical history, carefully screening patients for contrast reactions, noting the correct physician order and maintaining rigid adherence to department safety standards.
  • Perform daily calibrations of CT scanners, cleans scanning area before and after each shift, adheres to infection control practices pre and post patient care, stocks supplies and routinely exams stock to make sure no expired items are in the department.
  • Assist interventional radiologist during complex or invasive procedures, including room and supply preparation.
  • Complete order entry and exam data entry in a timely manner that allows for images to be viewed and reported on by radiologist.
  • Prevent unnecessary radiation exposure both to themselves and to the patient; and
  • Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and placing orders.

Job Requirements:

Associate degree (or foreign equivalent) in Radiology, Radiologic Technology, or Nuclear Medicine Technology. Requires ARRT registration in Nuclear Medicine Technology (NM) and Computed Tomography (CT). General Medical Radiologic Technologist license / eligibility from Texas Medical Board
