SUMMARY
This position evaluates psychiatric patients in the Emergency Department and makes recommendations to the Emergency Department Physician as to the disposition of those patients. Consults with attending psychiatrists as needed. This position also evaluates patients throughout the organization, as requested or urgently, who are in need of mental health assessments. This position facilitates or recommends appropriate referrals or preventative services, treatment and support for populations with alcohol, drugs and/or substance abuse.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Skilled in the assessment, diagnosis, and disposition of Behavioral Health patients; • Knowledgeable about services available to Behavioral Health patients; • Computer skills are essential; Ability to read, write, and speak English. I. Education: Master’s degree (MA, MS, MSW) or Doctorate in Psychology or Social Work. II. Experience (Type & Length): 1-2 years’ direct experience required. III. Certification/Licensure: Licensure at the independent level in the state of Texas; Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) are encouraged to apply. Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office required
