JOB SUMMARY:

Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates and controls the activities of Plant Operations. Establishes work priorities, organizes, assigns work to and coordinates activities of Stationary Engineers engaged in operating the Central Plant boilers, chillers, generators, pumps, and other machinery and equipment. Oversees operation and maintenance of all on-site generated utilities and related systems. Ensures compliance with all codes, regulations, and the requirements of patient care. Manages hospital energy management program. Develops and maintains computerized maintenance management systems for Central Plant and Plant Operations equipment and utility systems. Develops operational strategies on the computerized control system. Complies with standards for all phases of facility remodeling, renovation, and construction. Ensures works performed by contractors (bidders) are in compliance with code, customer expectations, quality standards, and time/budget constraints. Responsible for DNV Life Safety Requirements and departmental Life Safety Training.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two years experience in building construction / renovation / remodeling in order to gain a full understanding of project management.

  • None

    EDUCATION & TRAINING:
  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Construction, Business Management, or equivalent work experience.

    SKILLS:
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary in order to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to function in a decision making environment with minimal supervision.
