St. Joseph Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Maternal/Neonatal Program Designation Coordinator/RN to work Full-time. This position is for the Maternal/Neonatal State Designation with a focus on quality and data measures for the Maternal/Newborn department. • Full-time: Exempt position: 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM, no weekends or holidays; Flexible hours for meetings in early morning or late evening

• Average 250 to 300 deliveries per month. • Provides leadership and vision for the Maternal /Neonatal Program in terms of operations, services and patient care, consistent with best practices and evidence-based care. Serves as the Maternal /Neonatal Program Coordinator for Maternal Levels of Care Designation. • Assists with data collection, submission of regulatory measures, tracking and reporting of stats. • Facilitates the linkage between strategic business lines and provision of an effective and efficient Maternal Program • Works to establish written guidelines or protocols for prevention, early identification, early diagnosis, and therapy for various conditions. Critically appraises and validates data. Periodic review and revision for all maternal care policies and procedures. • Facilitates the Maternal Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program and multidisciplinary team Maternal QAPI meetings and case reviews. • Manages the day-to-day activities of the programs to ensure their efficient operations. • Maintains detailed documentation of Program activities as specified in level of care rules and ensures all criteria are met. • Contributes to strategic planning, leads and directs achievement in the provision of quality care to identified population. Maintains professional communication with all members of the multidisciplinary Maternal /Neonatal teams. • Critically appraises data and implements findings in patient care decisions. Ensures maternal data integrity through clinical review and verification of the medical record. • Develop and maintain a written plan of the Perinatal programs that includes a detailed description of the scope of services available to all maternal patients. Works with unit managers and staff for levels of care survey readiness. • Active participant in local, state, regional organizations. Provide outreach to community as needed. • Represents the service line at hospital-wide councils. Participates in outreach activities that contribute to our hospital and unit-based mission. • Collaborate with Nursing Director and Women & Infant’s Leadership team, including nurse managers and educators. • Serves as a resource to staff and is subject matter expert. Identify relevant areas for nursing research and assist in development of annual competencies. • Active in professional organization and maintains certifications as required for job role.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; Master's Degree Nursing (MSN) or healthcare related field (ie. MBA) strongly preferred• 2 Years Maternal /Neonatal experience including Labor & Delivery Nursing, NICU Required; • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire is required • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required upon hire • Other OB or Maternal Certified RN Upon Hire Preferred • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program, EFM – Intermediate or Advanced Fetal monitoring and ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications are preferred Skills• A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. • Effective leadership; verbal and written communication skills in English. • Advanced knowledge of current professional and health care issues and nursing practice. • Experience in project management. • Computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Access nursery.

Collaborate with patients, families, healthcare practitioners, and healthcare leaders in policy and program development, implementation and evaluation in facility design, in professional education, as well as delivery of care.

Understands that a solution may create a “new way of doing things” that is not how it has always been done, but is the right thing to do. Takes ownership of a patient safety related issue and openly acknowledges an ongoing problem requiring attention. Affirms that decisions made that will impact families and direct patient care requires patient and family representation as part of the multidisciplinary approach. Licensed as a Registered Nurse accepted by Texas State Board of Nursing to engage in professional nursing.

Technical, clerical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care/area.

Certification requirements as defined by the certification policy.

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
