JOB SUMMARY?

  • Facilitates Perioperoperative Scheduling Systems Services functions by assisting, managing and interacting with Doctor Preference Card System; the Supply and Implant Recall  and Tissue Tracking System. ?                    

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ?

  • Demonstrates accountability as an individual and member of the Perioperative Systems Services by monitoring product recall to ensure safe patient care within Perioperative Services.
  • Coordinates surgery special orders items with scheduling and financial approvals.
  • Coordinate capital equipment needs of surgery with purchasing department. ?

  • Demonstrates knowledge of cross-referenced systems such as the material management system; Tissue Tracking; and the Perioperative Nursing Documentation system to determine of product usage. ?

  • Alerts appropriate level of authority for product recall such as Risk Management; Material Management Department; ?Perioperative Leadership to ensure safe patient care ?

  • Insures Tissue Tracking System integrity is maintained through oversight maintenance of database for SJMC. ?

  • Ensures Tissue Tracking System database maintenance through weekly audits. ? ??

     
  • Maintain current on regulatory requirements necessary for compliance on an ongoing basis ?

  • Reviews Credentialing System to ensure surgeon credentials are in place prior to scheduled procedure. ?

  • Acts as a resource for staff, and leadership team to ensure surgeon credentialing is in place for surgical procedures. ?

  • Maintains Doctor Preference Cards to ensure supplies; instruments and equipment is up to date and accurate ?

  • Updates cards within 24 hours ?

  • Review schedule daily to ensure all schedule surgical procedures are assigned a accurate Doctor Preference card. ?

  • Facilitates Doctor Preference Card changes across surgical sites ??

  • Updates  leadership and staff changes with appropriate communication ?

  • Train staff  as part of Orientation process ?

  • Train staff on the various Perioperative Systems Services as needed on Doctor Preference Cards; Perioperative Scheduling System; Tissue Tracking Documentation?

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program (or equivalent experience) (Required) ?

  • 2 years Perioperative experience (Required) ?

  • Registered Nurse
