Job Description

Under the General Direction of the Practice Administrator and the General Supervision of the Office Manager, the Medical Front Office Coordinator is responsible for the performance of clerical duties in the office, admission and collection of data on  patients, scheduling of appointments, verification of insurance and treatment authorization processes.  Coordinates obtaining authorizations for care and insures face sheets are printed on each patient, reviewed for accuracy, and then placed in the chart in appropriate order for the physician/provider. Ensures patient data is entered into computer under scheduling and billing with accurate and appropriate insurance codes and financial classes. Follows through with the patient or their physician offices on outstanding documentation needed to finalize the patient’s chart. Assists with administrative duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator, Office Manager, and Physicians.

 

 



Qualifications

 

A.      High School graduate or equivalent

 

B.      Graduate of a medical assistant / medical office specialist program

 

C.      One year of previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.

 

D.   Knowledge of Medical Terminology and CPT and ICD9 coding highly preferred.


E. NextGen Knowledge a plus.
